'8x variable-intermittent wiper (was Re: 89 200tqw rear wiper)

On a different slant: I remember seeing an ad for a "generic" VW/Bosch
plug-compatible replacement for the "standard" intermittent wiper control
relay that added a variable delay. From the [cheesy little] picture in
the ad, looked like the usual [big/oversized] relay with a knob on the
"top" end to adjust the delay interval (not especially convenient, but
at least adjustable!). This was a year or three ago; anyone seen/used
any of these beasts? Seems like a great idea -- wished I had one (but
at the time was hoping to merely get to the point that the damn car would
run!) . . .
