Sounds fishy to me. They are probably BSing so as to persuade you
to buy a car RIGHT NOW.
I hope that Audi of America has a bit more intelligence than to
do a foolish thing like that. To raise the price of the A4
would be dropping a rock on their own foot. They shouldn't mess
with their success. One of the reasons why the A4 is doing well
is because of the reasonable price. As to the A4 1.8T 20V, I think
it is imperative that they bring the cars in to the U.S. There is
already a large anticipation for that model in this country.
And a lower price point for the 1.8 model means that the A4 will
be an even formidable competitor to the other marques.
