Bad wheel bearings??

Hi guys,

I have a constant deep whirring/whining noise and steering wheel vibration 
from the front-end in my '87 5kcst.  No play in wheels or suspension 
components.  Noise started recently after putting on new tires and aligning 
last year, new tires are wearing on the inside (too much neg. camber/toe-in?).
 Rotated tires, noise still there but vibration in steering wheel gone.  I had
a similar noise in my old Gti which turned out to be bad bearings.  The noise 
almost goes away completely on hard left turns or sweepers but is there while 
driving straight or turning right.  Does this sound like a bad LF bearing?

Thanks for any advice, this is driving me nuts!
