Bleeding The Brakes (Help)
Hey kids:
Thanks for the suggestions on bleeding the brakes, but I am confused.
(BTW, this is a NON-ABS 80Q)
The Bentley says that I should open the "bleeder screws" in the following
sequence: (1) Brake master cylinder and proportioning valve; (2) RR; (3)
LR; (4) RF and (5) LF. It also says the following:
"On vehicles with height sensitive brake pressure regulator, press the
regulator lever firmly towards the rear axle when bleeding the rear
brakes."
Questions:
1: People said do the "clutch slave" first. Is this the same as the
Master Cylinder?
2: It appears that I have a proportioning valve, but I do not have ABS.
The Bentley says "Proportioning Valve (ABS Only)." What's the deal with
that?
3: Does my car have a "height sensitive brake pressure regulator?"
4: Do I "pump" while draining? Do I pump when putting fluid back in? In
putting fluid back in, how does it get through the lines to the back?
Any help is appreciated (In advance).
