Wheel change tool and brake pads. 5Ks

Part 1:Just got back from dealer. T'was $4.50 for a the little plastic
dowel that threads into the wheel hub to aid in
changing our studless wheels.

No part number. Fiche showed the little thing but had no label. So Parts
dept. just ordered it to see what shows up.

What is the three holes in the tool for. IT's the three holes on the end
opposite the threaded end. I figgur it's for klutzes like me who
overtighten the thing to back it out by inserting Hex key or screwdriver.

Part b: Has anyone who's done their brakes ever needed new guide pins. I
have the Teves and dealer price is $48 for each pin.

Part iii: Could someone please let me know what size hex key and socket key
I need to buy at Sears. 6mm? 7mm?(Not the caliber), 8mm?

Thanks.

And may I not botch this front brake job. I'm a brake virgin.
I will have some blue Loctite and turkey baster on hand. Turkey baster to
extract some brake fluid before I squish the piston back in.
