There is a lesson here....
Sigh....just like Randall, I have royally pissed off the Audi gods by
merely contemplating another german vehicle...
Here is my tale of woe:
Like I said in my earlier post, I test drove an S class. The next day (and
ever since) the V8 drives like a bucking bronco. A friend who is a Benz
technician told me it felt like a throttle position sensor (it is very
sensitive with the on/off throttle movement). Question: Does this sound
reasonable, and if so, is it easy to relace (for that matter, where is
it?)??
Yesterday, I stopped by Battley Cycle (cool BMW/HD/Ducati shop) and found a
BMW K1 in great shape for a great price. Told the guy I'd think about it
(actually, I had already made up my mind to get it), got back in the car,
got on the highway, and it would not shift into 4th (auto). Now I'll
confess that I had just run it through a car wash (lash me 50 times with a
wet rag for being lazy). Questions: Did the car wash get something wet (it
shifts better today, but I don't want to tempt the gods), is there a vacuum
leak, or is it low on fluid? (As you all probably know, you can't check
the level of the fluid...there is no dip stick..)
Any ideas????
MORAL OF THIS TALE OF WOE: Don't even think about selling your baby (or
even buying another)...makes that actress in the movie Misery (you know,
James Caan and what's her name) look tame by comparison
