Re: 85 4ksq's ability

First and foremost, the front diff can't be locked. If you're talking
about the center, that's something different.

Personaly, I've only ever locked the center diff in snow and at low
speeds. And the rear only once while I was trying to get over the
mound of crap the plow left at the end of my driveway.

I purchased an 85 4ksq, against the advice of many, over a BMW320i several
months ago and never regreted it. The primiary reason for the decision was
the quattro technology; hence a few question concerning drivinging
condition with the front differential, if it's even called a differential,
locked-

1. With the fronts locked in sever wet weather, is there a speed
limitation? Would this configuration be considered safer then just the awd
config., say on the freeways? Should i even attempt this? Any do's and
don'ts? I realize that the steering will be compromised a bit. Any help
would be appreiated! (Thanks in adance.)
