Door Lock

friends, I have falied to heed my own advice.

Since getting our 1990 200, I have not pulled all the door panels and
lubed the pivot points of the lock mechanisms with white lithium
grease. Yes, I admit it, "I am a non-luber."

Yesterday while taking the kids on an outing, I turned the
key in the driver's side door lock and got the dreaded "SNAP" as the
link between the lock and the door lock mechanism broke. As Trudy
said in "Support Your Local Sheriff", "D**N,D**N,D**N,D**N,D**N."

And I know better. I have exhorted many of the 5K series owners to
do this simple preventive lubrication maintenance to keep their door
handles from breaking. And today, I read of the same thing happening
to a V-8 owned by another list member.

So while I get this sorted out, I implore others on this list to get
those stinkin' lock mechanism pivots lubed so they don't have similar
failures.

Now, if I can just figure out what I did to the Audi gods. Shoot,
maybe they're in league with Bose! EEEEEKKKKKK!
