This is an acceptable approach. The heater element in the O2 sensor doesn't
draw much current. If you don't find out why there is no voltage at the
heater element right away, don't waste your time troubleshooting the system.
Tap into a switched source of 12v power. This is how the the various heater
elements in a couple of the sensors (not O2) in my TQC are wired. The car
now starts up immediately, and runs great. Troubleshoot the TQC wiring
harness? Yeah, right! Good luck.
