My rr sag was caused by a deformed spring.  The top of the coil was deformed
such that the top end of the spring was touching (overlapping, in fact) the next
coil below.  The result was a spring that was about 3/4" shorter than it
should've been.  With no corresponding increase in spring rate and badly worn
shocks, this resulted in frequent rubbing of my rr tire.  Can't say whether this
is a common problem.  Since you replaced your springs, certainly doesn't sound
like it's your problem.
