vehicle weights

I went to the library today and looked at back issues of various car mags
that tested the 10valve 90Q.
My results:
Motor Trend  curb weight 2677lbs.

Road and Track  -curb weight 3000 lbs.
	        -test weight 3135 lbs.
		-weight distribution
		 with driver (%) f/r
		 60/40
Car and Driver  -curb weight 3180lbs.
		-weight dist. f/r %
		 59.7/40.3

The placard in the drivers door jam says somehting like gross vehicle
wieght !3900 lbs.

I really need to klnow the answer and since all these different sources
have different numbers I really am lost.
