Any consumption, unless the mileage is WAY up there
300K+ isn't natural to this engine. I've
seen engines with original mileage over 250K with
no oil loss. Check the gaskets, it's probably
leaking vs. burning it off. Oil filler on valve
cover is usually leaking if the washer hasn't been
changed in a while. If it's not leaking,
must have overheated or had some other trauma.
When I owned a Mazda RX2, it was "normal" to
burn a quart every 60 miles. (Early Wankel).
I used to check the gas and fill up the oil.
