Re: Another uniden experience
I too have used a uniden and a valentine. I even had them both in the
same vehicle for a while, just to comare them.
The uniden worked OK for the price, it was way cheaper than the
excellent valentine. It never failed to report a real signal that the
valentine also reported, although the valentine always gave a better
warning.
The biggest problem with the uniden was that it falsed way too much,
and it could cause falsing of the valentine as well. I had to turn the
uniden off while using my cell phone or it would false continuously,
and it would also false continuously when the rear wiper on the '89
300Z was running. I had it in a rental car once, some detriot model,
and the ignition coninuously falsed the uniden.
The falsing is why I eventually broke down and bought the valentine.
The latest bel models have recently been rated as being almost as good
as the valentine, both of them are rated far better than the unidens.
