Does your Ur-Q have a CO sensor tube like the 5KCSTQs? If so, you
could run the leads down the tube so that they extend just into the
exhaust stream for the outlet temp.
I remember a thermocouple expert telling us a while back that the
two leads of the t/c wires could be mounted on opposite sides of a tube
to measure the temp of the fluid travelling inside that tube. I got the
impression it wouldn't respond to quick transients, but was accurate fro
reasonably steady state conditions. You might try a SS hose clamp
holding the two leads on opposite sides of the turbo downpipe. In the
same vein, you could clamp the two individual leads between the EM and
the turbo. They would prolly squish flat enough not to screw up the seal.
Another valuable temp would be turbo bearing temp. You could monitor
that for cooldown.
