OOOOwww-D National Tour Race results ;-(

Well, the winning streak has come to an end at 7 races. It happened at
the National Tour Race in Connellsville, PA south of Pitts. on an airport
runway and taxiway. The race is a two day format with your best time
from Saturday's course combined with your best from Sunday's course. The
track did not suit the 4kq very well as only a few of the turns allowed
me to find the limits of the car. I simply could not get up enough speed
to excede the limits in the corners. With this problem, I still did very
well on Saturday with a time of 58.5 seconds to the class leader's 58.0.
I was encouraged by the fact that on my best run I screwed up a sweeping
corner and lost a lot of time... at least a second... it was a critical
part of the track. So, had I driven better, I could have had the lead
going into Sunday. Then it all went to hell. On my first run I don't
know how, but I slightly dislocated my left shoulder that was injured
this winter. I was in a lot of pain and very distracted on my first of 3
runs. I tried to make my second run but I could not endure the pain as I
started to see stars about half way through the course. I slowed down
before causing any injuries to anybody. I got out of the car and almost
passed out. They laid me down and iced my shoulder. I missed the last
run and was very upset. About 3 hours later the swelling went down along
with the pain.

I am very dissapointed that this happened at a National level race. The
next National race will be July 4th weekend... hopefully I can stay
together as well as the car does;-)

Anyway, there is always tomorrow.
