My understanding of the FD is that you have a slightly different plunger slit
size with the higher compression motor in the MC series motor.... As well
as a slightly revised cone shape in the air flap....
The Fuel Distributor itself are considered exchange units at your Bosch
dealer, so the exchange numbers are:
1983-1985 (WX) urq only - Bosch # FD70X
1986 5000TQ (MC 1/85-6/85) - Bosch # FD70X
1987-1989.5 5000T/Q (MC 10/86> 89.5 thru chssis # F44K-038-261) - Bosch #
FD63X
1989.5-1991 200T/Q (MC From chassis # F44K-038-262) - Bosch
The Air Flow Meters Bosch numbers are as follows
1984 -1985 Urq only - Bosch # 0 438 120 193
1987 - 1989.5 5000turbo/quattro MC (from 10/86>) - Bosch #0 438 121 053
1989.5-1990 200turbo/quattro MC (exc. CA)- Bosch # 0438 121 064
1991 200turb/quattro MC (California) - Bosch # 0 438 121 083
Be advised that:
WX = I5 10vturbo 7.0:1 1983 - 1985
MC = I5 10vturbo 7.8:1 1986 - 1989.5
MC = I5 10vturbo 8.4:1 1989.5 - 1991
The 1985 turbo/quattro are great parts cars, but the KH turbo engine and FD
parts have unique part numbers to just about all fuel and sensor
applications, beware of wooden rings when poaching an 85 car for your
projects....
BTW the Injector applications are as follows:
1983 Ur q = 0 137 502 015
1984-85urq/84-87 4000 fw&q/GT thru 87 = 0 437 502 045
1986-1989.5 5000 na/t/q = 0 437 502 043 (air shrouded)
