I recommend a wiring kit from one of the places that sells high wattage
bulbs in the back of most auto mags (I have seen them advertised in EC for
sure).  What you get is a plug and go set of wires and relays.  If your
car's wiring can provide enough juice to give you dim lighting, it should
be able to trip the relay in this wiring kit.  Once the relay is tripped,
full voltage and current flow through the other wires in the kit and you
problem is solved.  You can buy your own wire, relays and connectors, but
that can be a lot more work (experienced in this one both ways).  I
recommend the wiring kit if you are using 55 watt bulbs.  If you are using
100W bulbs, the current may be excessive and cause problems.
