Glen Powell's "Escape From Ticketraz"

	Glen and all:

Had to laugh at your post on escaping the "cluster", Glen.

Brought back not-so-fond memories. Here is the scenario:

I was second car in three car parade. Officer Fife comes by
[after we spotted him and got into slow lane--down from around 80 in 55],
lights on, waiving all over to shoulder. Even though he was talking
through the loudspeaker [I shrug and say to myself "No ENGLA"], I slowly
eased into the passing lane as he dove for the shoulder--other cars in
tow. I think -- surely he will take the deuce. WRONG!!! Accelerates
hard, pulls me over and just chews my ass. As I get out of the car to
sit with him--here come the other two cars, doin about 50 with traffic
all around them. I had to laugh!

Story ends with a heated debate in the front seat of a Crown Vic
when Captain Marvel threatens to tow the car and impound us both. Said
he could do it (1) because of speed [later admitted only radar hitting
the 1st car] and (2) for fleeing "arrest". Hmmmm. Here, tickets are not
an arrest--simply an infraction. Ends with a buddy driving the car to
the jail / courthouse--me riding with Captain Fife / Marvel. Get to the
courthouse, 1st guy I see was the Prosecutor "Bruce, how the hell are
you?" Later, well...I think you know what happened to that ticket.

Where else but in America could you have this much fun?
