'88 80 Quattro Fuel Probs

Well, Steve Buchholz,  you hit the nail on the head with the suggestion of 
the throttle closed switch! I checked it out when cold, and it was OK, i.e. 
Open , infinite ohms, closed, about 6 ohms.
But, when hot, the throttle closed switch measures about 50K ohms!, not 
quite open! So the dealer has this in stock for a measely $135-.

Anyway Tess's Track day is saved, and the 80 Q will be a pleasure to drive 
again.

Interestingly enough, the Computer Diagnostics Codes indicated 3 things!
     1. Temperature Sensor or wiring faulty
     2. Throttle open Switch faulty
     3. Throttle closed switch faulty

The temperature Indicator in the Instrument Cluster has been flaky for some 
time, but it apparently doesn't influence the Fuel Injection as much as the 
Closed Throttle Switch!

So the Internal Diagnostics apparently work!
