Cold start valve bad? A4000 CSQ

Car: 1986 Audi 4000 CS Quattro
Miles: 130k

Some time ago, the car started having trouble starting. It would start,
but I had to keep pumping the gas or it would stall. Once the car warmed
up, (30-60 sec) everything was fine. This lead me to think the cold start
valve could be bad.

Well, today, I go out to start the car, and nothing. The battery is
fine, it just won't start. It acts like it's not getting any fuel. Could
the valve have just died? Last night it was fine, (well, acted the same as
above) and this morning, nothing. I'm going to try and remove the valve
and see if any fuel comes out, but I have VERY few tools here. (I'm not
even sure if I have any allen wrenchs!)

    Thanks for any help.....
