Paying the Audi-gods...big time...

I had my 200tq20v in for an NYS inspection the other day, and I asked
my mechanic to take a look at the ignition wires since I was
experiencing no-starting, rough running, and distributor cap
"lightning bolts" over the past few months. He decided to replace the
cap, rotor and the ignition wires. The cap and rotor were the usual
outrageous price (but tough to get to, so it was worth it to me), but
the ignition wires were truly obscene...$350 for a set! Even he was
shocked! (no pun intended).

Anyhow, you can bet I fished the old ones out of the dumpster, just to
see if the wires had been hand-spun by some Bavarian elves. What I
noticed was that the wire itself will unplug from the plug and
distributor boots. So...my question(s) to the netters out there...

1) Can you get a pre-cut wire set with the proper connectors to fit
in those boots? Who sells 'em?

2) If #1 is not possible, can you just get good copper core ignition
wire and some of these connectors (whatever they are) and make a set
of your own. The $350 you save may be your own...

BTW, the car does run a bit better. Now to fix my boost problem (I
still only see 1.5 bar max).
