Not as funny indeed! Thanks to your info, I am becoming dimly aware here. 
Audi innocently mounts a manifold/header on its little motor that later 
will become obviously useful in "New Dodge" world-beater/manhandler 
vehicle.  Naive engineers at Chrysler are impressed and pressed for time, 
adapt said headers.  Slowly, other similarly over-engineered German parts 
infiltrate US assembly lines.  In time, we are all one big Brotherhood!  
Quick, somebody call Oliver Stone!
