Yes, the dealer price is ridiculous. I've gotten the same answer before.
Try calling Blaufergnugen. They modify a 4kq unit for 80/90 sedans and sell
it for $4-500. I'm not sure if it also works on the Coupe Q. Your other
option is to have someone custom make one cat-back...it's not that tough,
but finding a willing shop is not always easy. Or you can do it
yourself...this is not as hard as it sounds if your pipes are still good,
but the mufflers are bad. Put a straight pipe in instead of the front
resonator, and tie in a generic (Flowmaster, etc.) one in the back. The
hardest problem there is getting the exit right, and matching it to the
cutout in the back valance.
I've done all three options at one time or another...let me know if you want
