Re: Platin/ums, and acceptable color thereof

Talking about plugs, I took the ones on my '85 5KT out yesterday
looking for a solution to my month-old rough idle/low-rpm
stumbling problem. They're Bosch Platinums, and about 25,000 miles
old. Plugs 1 through 4 all have a white coating on them, but
plug 5 is grayish. No trace of oil, and they look fine other
	   than this coating.

Can I infer anything from the color of the electrodes? Is there
	   a "normal" color?

Well, it used to be that "ideal" (proper temp range) was a light-tan
to medium brown. White as such would be burning too hot. Gray??? Black
would be oil and/or running rich (shiny == oil, flat black == rich).
But them's old memories . . .

Dunno if this still holds with whatever Magic Ingredient X they're
putting in gas these days, though.
