A4/A6 fan speed
I dont think they are the same separated by 2 generations. But they do have a
small 8 bit micro processor which means that they are very likely to have
undocumented capabilities courtesy of the programmers' whims. I have found
that my recirc. is not engine load sensitive, but seems to have a temperature
gradient function. IE when it finds itself close to the desired temp. it sets a
lower fan speed and cancels recirc. Not sure, but seems to work that way.

Don't know if the A6 and A4 have identical climate controls, but the A4 manual
indicates that if the compressor switches off temporarily (e.g. due to high
engine load), the recirc mode will be reset, and will need to be manually set
again.
As much as I love my A4Q so far, I've gotta say that the climate control system
is a piece of wacky engineering. >>
