A8's are in Northern Virginia!!
Breezing thru HBL in Tyson's Corner after work tonight (yes, I came back to
work to type about the car), rummaging thru the Audi row & wondering why the
only A6 quattro's were wagons, look up towards the building, & see two A4's on
steroids. Closer inspection revealed the purple A8 quattro 4.2 that I saw in
Denver three weeks ago, and a black A8 3.7 non-quattro (but a sweet looking
sport interior, with the S-logo imprinted on the steering wheel.) Went inside
to ask questions, only one in the place who knows Audi's is Jack Carpenter.
"Wanna take her for a spin?" Half hour later (after convincing him I was a
lunatic during one of the corners I powered thru) we brought the 4.2 quattro
back 'cuz it was out of gas. Man, what a ride. First time I'd played with the
4 speed Tiptonic (sp?) Loved being able to shift an automatic! Unbelieveably
smooth, accelerated like a bat out of hell. Handled like a dream, HUGE _255_
tires wrapped around 17" wheels. Egad. They'll only be there three more dayz,
so head over & ask for Jack Carpenter. I can't brag enough about that car.
Anyone got $60,000 they want to loan me?
