Yes, both my 5000's do this. It means you tightened the belt too much. Most
Audi's I've seen at race events make the same racket...

No, the non-turbo's are not an interference engine. The turbo motors _are_ an
interference engine (voice of experience tlaking here.)

I shoved a big flathead thru one of the ovals on the face of hte camshaft &
braced agianst the head itself (not the valve cover.) Worked for me...
