tie-rod inner bushings
Hi!
this is my first post here. I have both an 84 5ks (200k) and an 85 5kst
(130k). I have been doing many 'no-cost' repairs on my 84 (such as window
regulators, strut-carts, and transmission, among others) I am now looking to
see if anyone has an aftermarket fix for the rubber bushings on the tie-rods
where they connect to the rack. I don't want to pay the $150 for a whole new
arm! I envision some sort of plastic (delrin?) pieces that could be used in
place of the rubber.
Anyone hear of such an item?
Also, i was wondering what audi did over the years to improve the cooling
system (starting in 84) because both my audis suffer from poor cooling on 80
degree + days.
more questions and some of my 'no cost' fixes to come!
