Re: help! slushbox! possesed!
Hi,
This same thing happened to me about 2 years ago on my 84 5K. Same symptoms
as you, I decided to perform chemotherapy on it.. The fluid looked fine and
the level was normal. I drove the car till it was warm (and was shifting fine)
then i poured in about 6 or 8 ounces of Berryman's Chemtool liquid. I started
the it up. From the transmission emerged a most horrid scream that lasted for
only a few seconds. I drove the car around for about 1/2 hr and in about a
week, i gave it the last 4 ounces or so just before i drove to the local
transmission shop to get the fluid changed (still looked fine but i felt
guilty) It has been 2 years now and the problem has never returned..
no cost repair (almost) #0987

Hi people,
A couple days ago my slushie deceided that it was in love with first gear.
When I first start off (cold slushie) I can not get the thing to shift to
2nd for about 2 minutes. Wiggling and moving the shifter throught the
PRND21 has no effect - it doesnt seem to be a linkage thing. Suddenly, it
gives up and acts normal, shifting smoothly as it always has. The problem
does not return until the car has been sitting for quite a while, so far not
until the next day. This has happened three days in a row. I am a slushie
moron, but have performed moron level diagnostics without any clues turning
up.
Any ideas?
