Re: help! slushbox! possesed!

I think your have some leaking seals in your slushbox, most likely that the
seals for the second gear is bad. I used to have an 85' 5000s with slush
box and it would not shift into second in the morning when it's cold.
Sometime I notice it would slip out of second.

This started to happen at around 115,000 miles on the clock. I got a minor
overhaul done and it was much better. The rubber seal in the trans became
harderned up to the point they were like hard brittle plastic. so they no
longer seal properly. My mechanic showed me the seals they got out from
my transmission, boy they were just completely short.

The reason it shifted after it warmed up was because as the car warmed up
the trans fluid also heat up thus warming up these harderned seals up thus
they softened up a bit and began to seal a little better and allow the
trans to build up pressure required for shifting.
