1. Got my speedo back yesterday. The local authorized VDO repair facility
could not repair electronic speedos, and had to send it to VDO for repair.
All it needed was a small plastic gear to fix odometer - cost: $230.05.  CAN
YOU SAY PRICE GOUGING? It also had oil finger prints all over the face, no
documentation as to whether there was a warrenty, testing, etc. I am
severely P$#%^ssed off. If anyone has any phone number to VDO, I would
appreciate it. As I have been inside that speedo 5 times, I know what was
done to it. I may not be able to get much attention from a multinational
corporation - but I will ensure they know that I am not happy, and several
car magazines and whomever else I can yell at will know it too.

2. Still having a minor leakage in my AC (10P17C Nippondenso) compressor -
at the manifold which bolts to the compressor itself (where the hoses
connect). It appears that this manifold has a gasket that a) Audi doesn't
make, and b) no one else does either. The only option is to buy the entire
manifold. Shokan price: $185.00 brand new. Spoke to several AC rebuilders -
this part is like gold to find, and they hardly ever get them, as they are
reused. So for those of you with this compressor (86 up) - keep an eye out
for oil leakage at the bottom of the manifold. If you buy a rebuilt or new
compressor, you won't get the manifold with it.
