Hmmm....got me thinking. There is a water injection kit manufactured by Holley (if I remember
correctly) for older Chevy V8's with high compression (Those were the Days, when Men bored Big
Holes into giant lumps of Iron and said, "It is Good for GM, and therefore...) so that they can
run on '90's spec gas with no detonation. The kit should include an adjustable computer, a
vacuum line that runs to the manifold, and a nozzle that you can mount anywhere. The nozzle is
supposed to be mounted on the air cleaner stud so that it fires into the primary venturis on a
4-barrel Holley carb, but you might need to have something small machined in order to locate it.
It also has a plastic bottle with a little electric pump of about 1qt capacity that you can
place somewhere convenient. From what I remember, it is relatively inexpensive ($125??) and
adjustable for manifold pressure cut-in. Maybe you can find it at a local hi-po American Iron
auto parts store and adapt it to your needs. I was thinking of looking for it this summer when I
drive the '68 327/350hp (slightly enhanced) 'Vette with 11.25:1 compression (Ping, Ping, Ping
went the Trolley, but a very fast trolley indeed with 108+ Octane Boost). Maybe have it spray
onto the intercooler with a little alcohol mixed in (it, not you)?
Best Wishes,
