Re: Trunk lid lettering-5k
I concur that '88 was the right year, I did this on my '86 5KCSQ. However,
when I removed them all, I only replaced the Audi on the left and the
quattro badge on the right, no 5000 CS. Looks better, won't turn black. I
remember that they weren't cheap, as usual. The Audi was something like $20
and the quattro $25-30, but it comes with the rubber adhesive attached, you
just peel and stick. I had to use a heat gun, held at a distance, and a
plastic putty knife to get the old ones off, also had to use a little light
rubbing compound to remove the shadow of the old ones from the trunk. It
probably depends on the color of the car as to how much shadow will remain.
