Ignition switch problem not an issue since I've been using a remote started
 
switch. I just turn on the key and then go to the engine compartment to
fire up  
 
the starter.

  Just a note, the fact that you are using a remote start switch with the
key on, does not mean that your ignition switch is good or that you do not
need to check that it is good!  A remote switch will juice the starter
regardless of switch position or condition and of course the engine won't
fire if switch is bad, could be worth your effort to cross this possibility
off your list. BTDT it was bad!.
