Only the original Corvair, the dumpy-looking one (opinion) with the
swing-axle rear suspension just like the original Bug, had serious handling
problems. The better-looking (opinion) second series Corvair had
articulated half-shafts (u-joint on both ends of the half-shafts--again,
just like the last of the Bugs) and much better handling. Also, was it CR
that pushed this one or just Ralph Nader and his book "Unsafe at Any Speed"
-- I guess, for auto enthusiasts, that's one and the same :)
