AUDI 4000 & Speakers

Over here in the UK, I think quite a  few manufacturers actually design speakers for individual car placements. Sony comes to mind, as recently I have been looking at upgrading, and noticed their speaker fitment range in one of their catalogues.

The (shit) stereo that exists in my car at the moment is definitely not the original, and is proving to be pretty difficult to remove, im not completely sure how it is attatched. 

I would also be interested on where to extract another power lead from, i.e for a multichanger in the boot? and the best (shortest) way of connecting it to the front unit.
BTW its an 85 80.
