I would have to agree with Darin on this one. In spite of the overall
cars, the 5.0 and Z28 are both, I hate to say it..., superior in terms
of horsepower and torque vs. a 5k with a 2.2. Even if the Z28 and 5.0
were equiped with auto trannys the 5k 2.2 wouldn't stand a chance off
the line if the individual driving the 5.0 or Z28 really wanted to drag...

.... Absolutely correct... Don't bet with the ones you raced, they are
scamming you... A 5kt showed a "best" time of 8.3 seconds 0-60 with the
5spd in stock form (160hp).... So switch that to a N/A slush, doubt you
could break the 10 second barrier.. Mustang 5.0 with auto is 7.0 (assuming
you just stand on it, no torque braking), the 5spd is low 6's, same with the
Z28 depending on year... 7.0 for the prev generation auto and mid 6's with
the 5spd... A new z28 could pull low 5's 6spd and low 6's slush..... The
really hot q to test would be a 5kt slushbox with a stage ++ box in it....
The tires and the trans are the only limitations to the really low 0-60
times..... That torque converter with a turbo is really better than ANY pop
off valve....
