Well, during the Ingolstadt tour, the tour guide explained that one of the
reasons the V6 2,8 liter engine was developed was that the quality of
gasoline in the States was not as high as the European petrol...that's why
they have the 2,6 liter version, but I'm sure that they also wanted to make
sure the car had more torque, especially as they would be selling a lot more
automatics here.

As far as octane, I always use the highest possible in all my cars...it may
be a waste of money in the short term, but the Chevy has 321,000 miles on the
original engine! (And still kicks! And I *do* push it to the limit a lot)
