Son's fine/car's toast

Well, my son went through surgery on Monday. Two steel plates, three
hours, and 20 screws later he's doing as well as can be expected. Spirits
are good and should be discharged today or tommorrow.

My Audi mechanic said he would buy the wrech from me, so sorry everyone,
I'm taking his offer. It's much more conveinent for me this way.

I'm more in love with Audi now then ever.

With the cruise on Abe fell asleep, hit an approach (at 65mph) launched
the 84 GT coupe into the air. the car landed on the left front fender,
completly collapsing the left side of the car, driving the left side of
the drivers footwell up to the dash. This is what broke my sons' leg.

However, the dash did not move and the cell surrounding the passengers
was relitivly intact. The steel beams that are in the doors were not
bent. The sheet metal and interior door panels are toast tho.

The sun roof was out and yet the roof pillars were not collapsed. Bent,
but not collapsed.

The front passenger has a broken nose and about 13 stitches (the stitch
count goes up every time I talk to him). He hit the windshield.

the rear passenger ended up wedged between the front seats. Two cracked
vertabrae and minor lacerations. They both went home the same day of the
accident.

Thanks everyone for letting me vent...I'm so thankful that nobody was
hurt. Sorry about not parting out the car...I'm taking the easy road out.
