Re: Exhaust squeaking
Hi Graeme,
Is your car the 'new' rounded model 80?
My '88 80 (116K miles) makes no strange noises whatsoever, except for a
rattly radio (put it in rather hastily, will take it out to fix someday).
Could be that your car is fitted with a non-original exhaust. Had that done
on my trusty old Jetta, made a lot of very strange noises. Wish I'd paid a
*little* more for OE...

I've recently come into the possesion of a 1987 Audi 80, and it runs pretty
well. However, theres this annoying squeaking which comes from the exhaust
whenever the car jumps like when I change gear or brake suddenly.
The local garage said that they couldn't find anything to cause it, but when
I had the car inspected before I bought it the inspector said that it was
just the exhaust mounts making the noise.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and are my garage talking bollocks?
Byeee
Graeme
