What what I've read of the Volvo, it uses the vicous coupling center
differential like the BMW 325ix, Mitsu Eclipse/Eagle Talon, Mitsu 3KGT/
Dodge Stealth, and others have used. It is a full-time 4WD, however
it doesn't really engage until the front wheels slip. They describe it
as a 95/5% split (95% front). Ack!

Gotta love the Quattro, especially the new one. The A4 I drove in the
snow was noticably more stable than my '90 90q20v. The EDL makes a big
difference.

Speaking of which however, does anyone know what the 911C4 uses? I suspect
it's viscous coupling, but I like the idea of a few torsons in there. :-)
