The timing marks on my '89 200q were WAY out (5 to 8 degrees) and all three
were different!  I strongly recommend using a dial indicator to measure TDC
through the No. 1 cylinder spark plug hole.  If you don't have one of these,
you can also remove the valve cover and use a straightedge across the lobes
to determine TDC although this method isn't quite as accurate.
