bushings

hellppp please,
early the morning i removed the lower control arm from my  1980 4ks . the
idea was to relace the obviously loose bushings and be on the road by noon.
bzzzzzst wrong.
i had no problem pressing them out, and no real problem pressing them in,
except that the devilish little outer shoulder will not enter the eye of the
control arm. it has stretched almost to touch the outer shoulder! do i keep
going?????
i have used lots of lubricant but now i'm getting frazzled .Yes i'm
referring to the control arm and bushing<tee hee>
your help would be appreciated
