As to third party vendors, I had Thule racks for 7 years on my 86 Coupe and
can highly recommend them.  I have also heard positive things about Yakima
racks.  I would stick with either of those brands and probably choose the
company that made a kit for your particular year.

PS:  thanx to everyone who answered my question about whether a mountain bike
would fit upright in the back of a wagon.  (There are certain times when
carrying multiple bikes on the roof that you get sick of hearing the bikes on
the roof, example, driving from Los Angeles to Moab)

 Does anyone know if Audi sells a bike rack to fit on roof of Wagon?
 OR do we have to buy third party?  What third party vendors are there? 
 
 I would like to mount my road bike on the roof, since the inside of my
 car will be filled with half of my house (vacation)!
