I saw this line a few years ago and it really gets you thinking...
Update/backdate
given any quattro produced....

for sale to the public in the US, not sure of the exact numbers, but I seem
to remember just under and over 300 hp for the 2 versions available. The
second
engine which comes to mind is the 227 hp S4/S6 engine. But given that you
can't
change the turbo or increase the boost pressure with some ECU mods, the V8
would win as the update engine of choice.

Does this rule mean that you can't fab some motor mount brakets if needed
for
a V8 engine swap. Any 5 cyl should drop right in, but wonder about the V8.
As for the drivetrain the first choice would be the 4.11 FDR from an 84 4000
quattro.
This will help the accel at the expense of top speed. You will need both the
tranny
and rear diff. For a torsen model, look over the 80-90 models. I am not sure
but
there might be a 4.11 torsen diff setup available from one of these. You
might also
look into the 5000/100 non-turbo quattro as these have 4.11s and then use
the 4.11
rear diff from the 84 4000q.
What can you do for brakes and suspension in CSP?
