Good observation.  And as much as Yer Kindly ol' Unka Bart hates to rain on
anyone's parade, he'd still ever so politely observe that the difference
between taking a car that starts out in the 15s and getting it down into 14's 
(or, even the 13s); and getting the same car down to 12.2 will require you to 
spend a *touch* more than $1000.

How big a difference?  Can't say exactly, but here's a hint, If someone gives 
you enough, and you want to determine how much was there before you spent it,
you would want to *weigh* it.  Counting it would take a significant part of your
remainig lifetime...
