Re: Help: stripped lug bolts

the last time I got tires put on my Audi, the center cap from the wheel
was on the floor on the front passenger side. I went to put it back on
thinking, "THEY MUST HAVE JUST FORGOT" or something silly like that.
Surprise! it wouldn't stay on!!! Hmmmmm. Thats odd, it was fine when I
brought it in...to make a long story short, I marched back in for some
answers....which I got, and they were very similar to what the dealer
told you about the bolt.
They took the centyer cap off and the little retaining clip just fell
off. FELL OFF? yeah, it was just sitting there in the rim.---Right.
Regardless of what happened, I told them it didn't fall off when *I* was
working on the car, and I expect my car to be in the same or better
condition than when I left it with them. They grumbled a bit, but two
weeks later I picked up a new center cap, complements of the shop.

Sure they claim they weren't responsible, but they are, don't let them
get away with it. You are already paying them for the tires and labor,
why should it cost *you* if they damage your car?
