Brian,

I've recently got a good look at the sender in question on our '86
5OOOS... now have a nice _quiet_ fuel pump :) The hose w/o a clamp is the
supply hose, carrying the pressurized fuel to the engine, and it just
screws into the sender top with a 'hollow bolt'.  Sounds like the bolt may
not be tight enough... just be careful not to push it too far, as the
sender top it bolts into is plastic!
