RE: New A4-based S4



Thanks for the clarification on the sulphur issue - I couldn't remember
exactly what it was that did it.

As for 286hp from an A4: I wouldn't necessarily want that much, but if I
expected to almost double the output of the engine, I'd certainly expect
more than just another chip. I'd be happy with, say, 200bhp or so :-)

not strictly correct eliot,

the original reason for the dropping of the m3 (euro) motor was it's
inability
to handle the sulphur content of low grade us fuel.  it seems that this
munches
the cylinder lining.  audi's alimunimum motors can handle it though...

the 286 hp a4 i've driven (mtm modified) certainly had a new exhaust (3"
stainless)
and a new carbon fibre airbox...
