Installing Sony stereo in A4?

I'm going to get a Sony CDX-910 as soon as I can find one, and throw it into
my A4Q.  For some reason that somebody here will probably explain as "makes
the car go faster/steer better/safer", Audi chose not to put a standard DIN
radio in the dash.  Sony does not make an Audi kit.  

I have two theories on what to do:

1) This is going to be an incredibly complicated install; therefore, I should
let a qualified installer do it.  Can anyone recommend someone in the D.C.
area?  I've had some experience with local dealers but nobody I really trust.

2) This is going to be an incredibly complicated install; therefore, I should
do it myself.  I have installed radios before, but nothing of this caliber.
 (That refers to both the stereo and the car!)  Does anyone know of a
third-party kit for installing DIN stereos in Audis?  Any tips?  Am I gonna
have to make my own wiring harness?
